Suzuki unveiled the Burgman Street scooter at the Auto Expo 2018. Now, CarandBike reports that the Suzuki Burgman Street will be launched in India by the end of May or early June 2018. The Suzuki Burgman Street will be the first maxi-scooter to be launched in the Indian market.

The Suzuki Burgman Street features a cutting-edge premium design inspired by the European scooter design language. In the foreign markets, the Burgman Street is available in higher capacities, but in the Indian market, the Suzuki Burgman Street will be a 125cc scooter.

The Suzuki Burgman Street features a bulky design with a large front apron with an integrated LED headlamp. The handlebar design is also unique and the body-mounted windscreen adds to the looks of the scooter. The seat is large and offers a lot of space for both the rider and pillion.

The tail section of the Suzuki Burgman Street also sports a unique design with a stylish LED tail light. The scooter is equipped with premium features such as digital instrument cluster borrowed from the Gixxer, disc brake on the front wheel, a stubby exhaust muffler similar to the Gixxer and outstretched foot position.

The Suzuki Burgman Street is based on the same underpinnings as the Access 125. The scooter draws power from the same 124.3cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 8.5bhp and 10.2Nm of torque. The power figures are expected to remain the same as the Access 125.

The kerb weight of the Suzuki Burgman Street will be heavier than the Access 125 due to the large apron and additional equipment. The Burgman Street is equipped with telescopic forks up front and a single shock absorber at the rear. The scooter rides on 12-inch and 10-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear, respectively.

Thoughts On The Suzuki Burgman Street
The Suzuki Burgman Street will be the flagship scooter from the Japanese two-wheeler maker in India. With the popularity of 125cc scooters in India, the Burgman Street will be a game-changing product in the Indian market.
Expect the Suzuki Burgman Street to be priced under Rs 70,000 ex-showroom and will rival the likes of Honda Grazia, Aprilia SR 125, TVS Ntorq and the upcoming Hero Maestro Edge and Duet 125.
