Royal Enfield has launched the new Thunderbird 350X in India which is based on the standard Thunderbird 350. The new Thunderbird 350X gets several cosmetic upgrades which distinguish it from the standard model. The vibrant new colour options and new features give the Thunderbird 350 an 'X' factor.

The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X looks sporty and modern as compared to the regular Thunderbird 350. With the new design and features, the Thunderbird 350X lock horns with the Bajaj Dominar 400 which has also received a makeover for the 2018 edition. Design
The overall design of the new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is similar to the standard Thunderbird 350. Up front, the motorcycle gets the same round headlamp with LED DRL but with black housing. The fuel tank design also remains the same but features vibrant, glossy paint finish.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X also gets a shorter handlebar which gives the rider an aggressive stance. The exhaust, front forks and top and bottom ends of the dual shock absorbers are finished in matte black.

Another prominent highlight of the Thunderbird 350X is the ‘Gunslinger' single seat and the sporty alloy wheels. The motorcycle also gets new pillion grab rails and LED tail light. The side panels and front mudguard are finished in gloss black colour. The rim stickers add to the looks of the motorcycle.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a modern sports cruiser with unique design elements. The motorcycle features a menacing stance with the all-LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank with shrouds render an aggressive look to the motorcycle. The Dominar 400 too comes in vibrant colour options similar to the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 features split seat and sporty split grab rails. The sports cruiser also gets signature LED lights at the rear. The side panel, frame and the stubby exhaust are finished in black colour. The engine belly pan and golden finished alloy wheels add to the looks of the Dominar 400.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 excels in the design department as it is modern and stylish as compared to the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X. But the retro-style bike lovers will still cherish the design of the Thunderbird 350X.

Features
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is equipped with the same digital-analogue instrument cluster with the blacked out theme. Other features include alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres, disc brakes at both the ends, rim stickers, telescopic forks up front, twin shock absorbers at the rear and LED tail light.
The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is available in two vibrant colour options: Whimsical White and Roving Red.

On the other hand, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is loaded with features such as fully-digital reverse LCD instrument cluster and a secondary display for tell-tale lights on the fuel tank. Other features include all-LED lighting, slipper clutch, disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS and alloy wheels.
The Dominar 400 is equipped with chunky front forks and monoshock suspension at the rear. The Dominar 400 is on par with the Royal Enfield 350X with the number of features and especially with the safety net of ABS.

The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X draws power from the existing 346cc single-cylinder engine producing 19.8bhp and 28Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Powering the Bajaj Dominar 400 is a KTM-sourced 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine producing 35bhp and 35Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The Dominar 400 returns a mileage of around 25-30kpl, and the figures are expected to remain same on the Thunderbird 350X.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 is a value for money product with all the bells and whistles. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is a unique machine with classic design elements but misses out on few vital features.
