Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has launched the new Honda Activa 5G at a starting price of Rs 52,460 ex-showroom (Delhi). The new Activa 5G comes with a host of new features and two new colours.

The 2018 Honda Activa 5G was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018. The new Activa 5G will rival the likes of TVS Jupiter and the Hero Maestro Edge in the Indian market.

The scooter has dominated the segment and has even threatened the top-selling two-wheeler in India.

The 2018 Honda Activa 5G is similar to the Activa 4G, but Honda has added new features and two new colours to set it apart from the previous model.

Design

The design of the new Honda Activa 5G is essentially the same as the Activa 4G model with few revisions.

The upgrades include new LED headlamp integrated with LED daytime running lights with chrome garnish.

Apart from the 5G badges, the side design of the Activa 5G is similar to the 4G.

While Honda has not redesigned the new Honda Activa 5G comprehensively, the bike manufacturer has updated the scooter with modern and upmarket design.

Features

Apart from the new LED headlight, the new Activa 5G features a new and convenient 4-in-1 lock, which houses the seat-release button.

The scooter also gets new shopping hooks on the front and rear side (retractable) of the front loading area.

Additionally, the new Activa 5G has got mobile phone charging sockets similar to the 4G model.

Honda Activa 5G now features semi-digital instrument console which gives all important information.

Notifications such as service intervals and ECO speed indicator are now part of the Honda Activa 5G.

The 2018 Activa 5G is now available in two new colours: Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red.

The scooter is feature-rich and boasts a host of convenience features compared to the Activa 4G.

Engine Specifications, Gearbox & Mileage

The Honda Activa 5G continues to draw power from the same engine as the Activa 4G model.

The Activa 5G is powered by the same 110cc single-cylinder engine which produces 8bhp and 9Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox.

Honda has left the engine untouched as the unit has won a lot excellent reviews for its refinement and performance.

The mileage of the Activa 5G continues to return similar claimed figures of 60kpl as the 4G model.

Pricing

The Honda Activa 4G is priced at Rs 50,730. The newly launched Activa 5G is priced at Rs 52,460 for the STD model and Rs 54,325 for the DLX variant. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Honda Activa 5G is expensive than the Activa 4G. But with the new design elements and features, the Activa 5G justifies the bump in the price.
