Hero Xtreme 200R Launched Pan-India; Priced At Rs 89,900
Hero MotoCorp has just announced the country-wide launch of their new premium motorcycle, the Xtreme 200R. Priced at Rs 89,900, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Hero MotoCorp has announced the country-wide sales of their new Xtreme 200R motorcycle. The new Hero Xtreme 200R is priced at Rs 89,900, ex-showroom (Delhi). The company will start dispatching the motorcycle from its factory next week.
The Xtreme 200R is the first among the new range of premium motorcycles from Hero Motocorp in India. The company had recently announced sales of the motorcycle in a phased manner, starting with Northeast India.
Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD & CEO, Hero MotoCorp, stated, "For us, the Xtreme 200R is not just any other product launch - it will catapult us to where we have been earlier - the premium segment. It is, therefore, our re-entry into a segment where we had a sizeable presence and market share not too long ago."
He further added, "Designed specifically for the youth, the Xtreme 200R is an expression of our serious intent in a high growth segment. With the upcoming festive season in India, the Xtreme 200R will help us consolidate our market leadership. We will also soon commence sales of the Xtreme 200R in our global markets as well."
Sanjay Bhan, Head of Sales, Customer Care and Parts Business, Hero MotoCorp, added, "We are ready to commence the retail sales of the Xtreme 200R across the country and are confident that this motorcycle will enable us to make our presence felt in the premium segment."
"The customer response to the bike in the Northeastern part of the country, where it was recently launched, has been overwhelmingly positive."
The Hero Xtreme 200R is powered by a 199cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. It produces 18bhp and 17.1Nm of torque, while mated to a standard five-speed gearbox.
Braking on the motorcycle is handled by 276mm and 220mm front and rear disc, respectively. The motorcycle is also the first in its segment to offer ABS as standard (single-channel ABS). The Xtreme 200R further uses 37mm telescopic front forks and a seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Other features on the Hero Xtreme 200R: headlights with LED pilot lamps, LED tail lights, digital-analogue instrument cluster, dual-tone graphics and a contoured seat for better riding comfort.
The new Hero Xtreme 200R is available in a range of five dual-tone colour options. This includes Panther Black with Cool Silver, Black with Red, Sports Red, Charcoal Grey with Orange and Techno Blue.
Thoughts On The Hero Xtreme 200R
The Hero Xtreme 200R is one of the most affordable 200cc motorcycles in the segment. The new premium motorcycle offering from Hero MotoCorp rivals the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, KTM Duke 200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. However, the motorcycle is more computer-based, compared to its more sportier rivals.
