Aprilia RS 150 first look review: Aprilia unveiled the new RS 150 fully-faired motorcycle at the Auto Expo 2018.
Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Aprilia came in with a big surprise by unveiling the new RS 150 at the Auto Expo 2018. The Aprilia RS 150 made its global debut in India. Aprilia already retails the RS 125 in several global markets, but we didn't expect the RS 150 coming. The RS 150 is a downsized version of the RSV4 and also features the same design language. Here is our first look review of the Aprilia RS 150.
Aprilia RS 150 Design
The overall design of the Aprilia RS 150 is inspired by its bigger sibling, the RSV4. The RS 150 looks aggressive and sharp similar to its V4 counterpart. The front end of the motorcycle features signature triple headlight setup which gives the motorcycle a unique look. The motorcycle also gets a large windscreen to avoid windblast.
The front fairing of the Aprilia RS 150 is aggressively designed with cuts and creases, and it also plays a vital role in the aerodynamics of the motorcycle. The exposed racing-inspired aluminium frame integrates seamlessly with the fairing. The fuel tank is muscular with knee recesses to tuck in your knees comfortably. The underbelly exhaust is neatly concealed on the lower part of the fairing.

The rear section of the Aprilia RS 150 features an aluminium swingarm which adds to the sporty look of the motorcycle. The rear cowl is sharp and edgy with tapering lines and gels well with the pointy tail. The motorcycle gets sleek LED tail light which adds to the appeal of the RS 150. The Aprilia RS 150 features a Silver Speed livery with RS branding.
Aprilia RS 150 Engine Details
Powering the new Aprilia RS 150 is an all-new 150cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine producing 17bhp @ 10,000rpm and 14Nm of torque @ 7,500rpm.The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The aluminium perimeter frame aids in agile handling suited for spirited riding.
Aprilia RS 150 Features
The Aprilia RS 150 comes loaded with premium features such as triple headlight, LED tail light, digital-analogue instrument cluster, clip-on handlebar and sporty step up split seat. The dual-tone colour scheme and sleek tail enhance the looks of the motorcycle.
The Aprilia RS 150 is equipped with premium cycle parts such as 40mm upside down (USD) fork at the front and mono-shock suspension setup at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 300mm disc at the front and a 218mm disc brake at the rear. Single-channel ABS on the front wheel is standard, and a quickshifter will be offered as an option. The spider design 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with Mitas tyres, a Czech Republic brand.
Aprilia RS 150 Rivals
The Aprilia rs 150 is an entry level sporty fully faired bike from the stable of the Italian company. In the Indian market, the RS 150 will be a fitting rival to the newly launched Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 and also the Suzuki Gixxer SF.

The Aprilia RS 150 is a surprise package from the Italian two-wheeler maker. The RS 150 made its public debut in India, and this suggests that Aprilia is planning to introduce the motorcycle in the country. But Aprilia is likely to launch the RS 150 by the end of 2018 with a price tag of around Rs 1.5 lakh ex-showroom.It might be expensive than the R15, but it gets all the bells and whistles to justify its premium tag.
