Hero XPulse Adventure Bike Is All Set To Be Launched In India
Hero XPulse India Launch In Mid-2018
Hero MotoCorp showcased the concept version of its latest adventure bike XPulse at the recently concluded EICMA 2017. The company ventured into motorsports with the Hero Motorsports team participating in the 2017 Dakar Rally.
It was just a matter of time before Hero could add an adventure bike in its product lineup and the XPulse is the result of their search. Now, Carandbike.com has confirmed the India launch details with the bike. The Hero XPulse will be launched in India by mid-2018, with production commencing from June or July 2018.
Hero MotoCorp previously sold the Hero Impulse in the Indian market, but discontinued it in 2016; the XPulse is necessarily a bigger version of the former. However, the Hero XPulse is built on a new platform and will be powered by a new engine.

Talking about the engine of the Hero XPulse, the adventure bike will be powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. While Hero MotoCorp has not revealed the power output of the engine, we expect the unit to produce 20bhp and weigh about 140kg.
It is learned that Hero MotoCorp wants to keep the XPulse lightweight and offer an agile yet versatile motorcycle despite lower power output. Once launched, the Hero XPulse will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
While the Himalayan is powered by a 411cc unit producing 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque, the XPulse is expected to be lighter, agile with an affordable price tag. With the Himalayan price at Rs 1.84 lakh, the Hero XPulse price is expected to be in the range of Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 1.3 lakh.
DriveSpark Thinks!
The Hero XPulse adventure bike looked quite promising in its concept version, and with the latest news about the power output, the bike is expected to give the Himalayan a fierce competition. That said, the Hero Impulse sales were negligible in numbers as it lacked features, it is to be seen if the XPulse will offer the ride and handling of a dual-purpose adventure bike.
