Benelli Leoncino Scrambler India Launch Details Revealed
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli is all set to launch the Leoncino Scrambler in India.
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli is all set to launch the Leoncino Scrambler in India. CarandBike reports that DSK Benelli will introduce the motorcycle in the country in November 2017.
DSK Motowheels Chairman, Shirish Kulkarni confirmed the launch details. He also stated that there are two more products to be launched in the current fiscal.
The Leoncino is an affordable middleweight scrambler, Benelli will launch the on-road variant of the motorcycle in India. But the scrambler will be capable of light off-roading. Kulkarni stated that it would be a lifestyle motorcycle and not an adventure machine.
The Benelli Leoncino will draw power from the existing 500cc twin-cylinder engine producing 47bhp and 45Nm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets upside down forks up front and mono shock suspension setup at the rear. ABS will be offered as standard equipment.
The Leoncino scrambler sits on the new steel Trellis frame and features retro-themed design. The motorcycle was first showcased at the 2015 EICMA in Italy.
The Benelli Leoncino is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 6 lakh ex-showroom. The Leoncino will not have a rival in the Indian market. But it can be considered as an affordable alternative to the Ducati Scrambler.
