Yamaha Reveals 2018 YZF-R3 With Cosmetic Changes

Apart from the cosmetic changes, the 2018 YZF-R3 is compliant with the Euro-IV emission norms which is identical to BS-IV in India. On the design front, the updated motorcycle remains identical to the previous model sold in the Indian market.

The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 draws power from the existing 321cc parallel-twin, four-valve, fuel injected, liquid-cooled engine producing 41.3bhp and 29.6Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

In the US market, the new YZF-R3 is offered in both ABS and non-ABS variants. It will be interesting to see if Yamaha offers the ABS in the Indian market at least as an option.

All the other components on the new YZF-R3 remains the same as the outgoing model. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm Kayaba forks at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear.

The instrument cluster of the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R3 remains identical and continues to display vital information such as fuel consumption, coolant temperature and trip metres. The updated motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels.

Yamaha has finally revealed the new updated YZF-R3 with subtle cosmetic changes. The motorcycle remains identical to the outgoing model, and there is no change in the power figures as well. We expect Yamaha to introduce the new YZF-R3 in India very soon even by the end of 2017.
