Ducati SuperSport 939 spied For The First Time Since Ducati Week
The spy images of the new Ducati SuperSport 939 in action has surfaced the internet for the first time. This is the first glimpse at the motorcycle since the leaked images from World Ducati Week (WDW).
At WDW, Ducati had previewed the Supersport to its fans inside a secure area, but someone still managed to sneak a camera into the arena and leaked pictures online.
Since the appearance at WDW, this is the first time the snaparazzi's has spotted two different test mules undergoing development in Italy, months ahead of the bike's official launch.
Ducati has officially confirmed there will be two models; a standard and a higher-spec 'S' model. The spy images reveal two different versions of the standard model.
Just like any other Ducati, the S variant will be a bit more expensive, but while Ducati has, so far, not given confirmation on price. We estimate the motorcycle to be priced around £12,000( Rs. 10.5 lakhs).
Ducati says, the new SuperSport 939 will be a sportsbike for the road, with the best performance and brakes but will not have the high-end performance similar to the Panigale range.
The motorcycle is based on the existing Ducati mechanical elements. The engine used is a 939cc, water-cooled, L-twin, from the Hypermotard, while the trellis is adopted from the Monster range.
Electronics on the motorcycle will include an eight-level traction control, and three rider modes, a newly developed cornering ABS and anti-wheelie.
