Aprilia SR 150 Engine Specifications Revealed Ahead Of Launch
The Aprilia SR 150 is a much awaited scooter to be launched in the Indian market. The SR 150 is Aprilia's cheapest offering and the launch is slated to take place post August 15, 2016. The SR 150 will be launched for an introductory price of Rs. 65,000 ex-showroom (Pune).
While the scooter looks like no other in the Indian market, it was supposed to share the same engine from the Vespa 150 that is on sale here, but performance figures were under wraps. Now, Aprilia has revealed engine and technical specifications of the SR 150.

Powering the Aprilia SR 150 is a 154.4cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 11.3bhp at 7,000rpm and 11.5Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. Fuel is fed to the engine via a carburetor and the engine comes mated to a CVT gearbox, like most scooters sold in India.

Up front, the Aprilia SR 150 has telescopic front forks, like a motorcycle and a monoshock takes car of the rear. The Aprilia SR 150 will feature a 220mm front disc brake with a twin piston calliper and a 240mm drum brake for the rear. The Aprilia SR 150 will have 120/70 section 14-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Bookings are already open through Vespa dealerships for an amount of Rs. 5,000. Once booked, the Aprilia SR 150 will command a waiting period of approximately 45 to 60 days. Deliveries are expected to commence from the first week of September.

When launched, the Aprilia will literally have no competitors in the market since the only other 150cc scooter sold is the Vespa, Aprilia's sibling. In terms of design, both vehicles are styled very differently.
