Vespa Showrooms Begin Accepting Pre-Bookings Of Aprilia SR 150
Aprilia announced that it would be launching the SR 150 scooter in the Indian market during August 2016. The Italian-based manufacturer announced that it was accepting pre-bookings across India. Bookings for Aprilia SR 150 is being accepted via Vespa Showrooms.
The SR 150 is offered at an introductory price of Rs. 65,000 ex-showroom by Aprilia. Bookings at Vespa showrooms are being accepted for a token amount of Rs. 2,000. Dealerships confirm that a special dedicated niche will be created within Vespa showrooms for Aprilia SR 150.
Currently, the Aprilia SR 150 scooter does not have any direct competitor in the Indian market. Only Vespa offers 150cc scooters in the Indian market. Segment leader Honda offers the Activa 125, while Suzuki has the Access 125 scooter model.
Powering the Aprilia SR 150 is a 150cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. At this moment, Aprilia has not revealed to us performance figures of the scooter. Piaggio Group will be sharing the 150cc engine used by Vespa in India for the Aprilia SR 150.
The Piaggio Group will be manufacturing the Aprilia SR 150 scooter at their facility in Baramati, Maharashtra. Local manufacturing is the main reason for the lucrative pricing. This will be Aprilia's first mass market product in the Indian market and is expected to be extremely popular among young buyers.
