KTM Signs Jordi Viladoms For Dakar Rally Race
Everything that has a beginning also has an end, however, the show must go on. KTM, thus have signed up Jordi Viladoms for its Dakar rally outing. The Spaniard will replace late Kurt Caselli at the factory team.

Viladoms believes, it's sad to join a team under such situation, but will remain focused and will strive to achieve the best results, in Kurt Caselli's memory.
The Spaniard will join the team alongside three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma, as a support rider. Ruben Faria and Francisco "Chaleco" Lopez are part of the team too.
Jordi Viladoms has participated previously in the Dakar rally with KTM from 2006 upto 2010. However, 2014 will be his first Factory ride with KTM.

Alex Doringer, Manager of ‘Red Bull KTM' rally team, explains, Viladoms is familiar to work ethics of the team, which will ease the transition period. On losing a member and friend like Kurt Caselli, Doringer believes that Jordi Viladoms can provide stability to the team.
About Dakar Rally
Dakar Rally or formerly known as "Paris-Dakar Rally", is an annual off road rally. The idea came to life in 1978 to race from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal. Since 2009, the rally is held in South America.
The Rally is an invitation to both professionals and amateurs. Distances covered during each stage can vary between 800-900 kilometres. The terrain is hard-bitten and vehicles used are pure off-road racing machines. A separate competition class is set for bikes, cars and trucks.
