Bajaj To Reveal Three New Models At Auto Expo?
Bajaj Auto will showcase three new two wheeler models at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in Delhi this coming February, a senior company executive has revealed. From several earlier reports and spy shots of upcoming Pulsar models we know that two of the expected three models will be Pulsars.
During an interaction with Business Line during the Pulsar Stunt Mania event in Coimbatore, Shyam Sundar Narayan, Marketing Manager, 2 Wheelers, BAL, Pune revealed that three new vehicles will be revealed of which at least one model will be launched in 2014.

The last bit is contrary to what we have been led to believe by earlier sightings of Pulsar models. It's well known that Bajaj is testing a fully faired version of the 200cc motorcycle called Pulsar SS. This bike will be the first one to hit the roads post its Auto Expo reveal.

Meanwhile, we are also expecting Bajaj to showcase the rumored Pulsar 375 in Feb. But going by what the senior executive has said, the larger Pulsar may or may not hit production next year, which is a little disappointing.

As for the third new model, the chances of it being another Pulsar variant are slim. Instead, it could turn out to be a Discover. It is also possible that the third model is a redesigned 2014 Pulsar 150.
Speaking about the evolving two wheeler space in India, Sundar Narayan said, recently the sports bike category has witnessed an emergence and Bajaj Auto is the dominant player, with 47 percent market share. And while the ‘super sport' segment (meant to describe bikes more powerful than 200cc Pulsars) still sees low volume sales people have started showing increased interest in this segment and Bajaj is in favourable position to exploit this emerging category of motorcycles.
