Hanging On For Dear Life — Truck Dangles Off A 500-Foot Tall Bridge
A truck driver in China must be thanking his lucky stars after he managed to escape from his truck which was left dangling off a 150 metres (498 feet) tall bridge on a motorway in southern China.
The truck was 30 metres long (98 feet) and was transporting 23 cars from Anhui Province in eastern China to Guizhou Province in southern China.
Thankfully no one was killed and the trucks two drivers managed to escape from the truck with just minor injuries.
The truck was travelling at 80Km/h inQingyuan, Guangdong Province, in southern China, when the driver says he suddenly lost steering, and the truck sped towards barriers in the middle of the highway.
When the driver applied the emergency brakes, the truck failed to stop and bounced off the central verge. The momentum of the crash carried the truck across the width of the highway and left the driver's cab dangling off the edge of the bridge.
Thankfully the truck did not tip over and the drivers were able to escape to safety. Traffic on the highway was blocked for about a hour and a half as authorities cleared the scene of the crash.
