Remember The Cops Who Took A Lamborghini On A Joy Ride? Well, They Got Punished
About two months back, we reported a scene where police officers wrongfully confiscated a Lamborghini from a rental company in the UK. The police impounded the car claiming the insurance was lapsed, and took it out on a joy ride.
The owner, Erwyn Mackee, who owns the car as well as the rental company called City Supercars, managed to track the car with the onboard tracking device, while cops were overspeeding in the confiscated car.
Mackee also happens to be a lawyer, said he will make a complaint and now, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police has shared the following statement:
After becoming aware of the car owner's concerns, an internal investigation was conducted. The police officer who drove the car was given three penalty points on his police driving record.
"A second officer was subject to management action. We are in the process of reimbursing the owner of the car the statutory $A255 removal fee."
