Google To Butt Heads With Uber With Autonomous Taxi Service

Google is planning to take on ride shareing taxi service app Uber with a fleet of self-driving autonomous taxis.
Google's parent company Alphabet Inc is planning toits self driving car unit a separate company under the Alphabet umbrella next year, according to Bloomberg.
The autonomous fleet will include both small and large cars and will first be deployed in confined areas like college campuses, corporate office parks and military bases.
Thilo Koslowski, vice president and automotive practice leader at Gartner told Bloomberg that the technology would help not only Google but the whole industry as it would "help consumers to experience the technology and embrace it in a bigger way."
