Ford To Offer Type IV Ballistic Protection For Police Interceptor Models

American carmaker Ford is to offer Type IV ballistic protection for the police Interceptor models, after many officers have requested for higher level of ballistic protection.

The factory equipped vehicles are the first pursuit vehicles to offer Type IV protection in the United States. The bullet proof panels can withstand bullets fired from different guns, including armour piercing ones.

The Type IV ballistic protection is offered on both the Interceptor models, and the video above demonstrates how effective the protection really is, when different types of ammunition is fired at the vehicle.
