In its more than 60 year long history Formula 1 has changed drastically. From its humble beginnings where heavy barrel shaped cars with spoked wheels running on concrete tracks to the sleek, light and aerodynamic marvels of engineering that F1 race cars of today. From the front mounted straight eight engine to rear mounted V12 to V8 engines.

F1 cars no longer take to the air like they used to do in the days of Niki Lauda. Instead, these racing machines have enough downforce to run upside down on a tunnel roof if need be. Many now feel F1 has lost its charm, which might very well be true. But you cannot help but marvel at the sheer technology showcased by Formula 1 race cars. Technology that rivals even fighter jets.
