Red Bull Straight Rhythm Brings Excitebike To The Real World

By Ganesh

If you played NES video games in your childhood you'll surely remember Excitebike. A classic supercross game that played out in a straight line. In case you are not aware below is screen shot of the game.

In real life though Supercross takes place in a circular or a winding track, with the racers trying to get ahead of each other while tackling the whoops, triples, doubles, table tops and step on/offs - those are the mounds of soft compressed mud of various shapes and sizes.

Now, Red Bull has come out with a track of its own that mimics the track from Excitebike. Called Red Bull Straight Rhythm, the track takes all the elements of Supercross and unwinds the track. The straight track is half a mile long and two riders go head to head trying to be the first across the line.

Red Bull describes its Straight Rhythm track as "an innovative evolution of supercross" where "riders must focus exclusively on reading the terrain directly in front of them, correctly judging their speed for precise distance and control."

The video makes for an amusing watch and almost seems unreal. Don't miss it.
