Commissioner B.H. Anil Kumar in a recent tweet, said, "Disinfectants will be sprayed using drones to sanitise public spaces. Mechanical sweepers to be deployed for intensive cleaning. Jetting machines from BBMP will be employed in this exercise."

The Drone used by the government will be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. It features six propellers, and a storage tank to hold 15-litres of disinfectant liquid. The drone sprays through six nozzles under the propellers and can reach small places with ease.

The flight times of the drones are rated at 20 minutes on a single charge. However, with powerful electric motors, onboard the drone can cover an area of three acres on a single battery charge.
