The year 2017 is coming to an end, and several automakers are offering year-end discounts and special offers such as buy the car now and pay in 2019.

But this incident you are going to read about is the dead opposite. The customer has made full payment for Isuzu V-Cross in August 2017, but he is still waiting for the car to be delivered. Maybe it's a new offer from Isuzu, 'Pay now and Buy next year'!

To make full payment, Tapaswi had sourced loan from Axis bank, and the Isuzu V-Cross was booked in his brother's name. The dealer had promised that after two days of loan disbursal, the car would be delivered to the customer. The entire payment process went through smoothly, but the dealer failed to deliver the V-Cross.

Tapaswi has been in touch with the dealership through e-mail, and the head of the dealer assured that the V-Cross will be delivered by August 25, 2017, and will bear the first loan EMI which was due because of the delay. But the dealership yet again did not deliver the vehicle.

The dealer kept on postponing the delivery date due to some internal issues. But on September 16, 2017, Isuzu published a notice in the Times Of India stating that the Viraaj Isuzu shut down the dealership and from September 12, it was not authorised to sell its vehicles.

Now, the harassed customer decided to file a case in the Consumer Court and the first hearing was on December 20, 2017. But the dealer representative was absent for the hearing. Isuzu too replied to the filed case stating that the company should be excused from the case as the deal was between the customer and the dealership.

The reply from Isuzu shocked the customer as, how can a manufacturer not be responsible for not delivering a vehicle. In fact, Isuzu had sent a letter to the dealership seeking the status of ten pending bookings including Tapaswi's V-Cross. The letter also said that if the dealer fails to clear the pending bookings by August 24, the company will take necessary actions to protect the interests of the customers.

    DriveSpark Thinks!

It is shocking to hear that Isuzu is trying to wash off its hands by not taking the responsibility of this mishap. Despite receiving full payment, the dealer has harassed the customer by delaying the delivery of V-Cross. The point to be noted is that, at the time of payment Viraaj Isuzu was still an authorised Isuzu dealer.

Isuzu had also stated that if the dealer failed to clear the bookings, necessary actions would be taken. But now Isuzu has stated that it is not responsible for not delivering the vehicle. But the customer who booked the V-Cross is paying EMIs, even though he has not received the vehicle.
