Video: Audi R8 Sets 392 KM/H Half Mile World Record
An Audi R8 tuned to produce 2500 horsepower has set the fastest half mile speed record. Here’s the video.
This one's for the Audi R8 fans out there. A 2500 horsepower Audi R8 has set a record for the fastest half mile, recording an exit speed of little over 392km/h.
The Audi R8 in question is a 2017 model, tweaked and given the extra 2000 horsepower (almost) by Underground Racing. The record-setting R8 was driven by Mohammad from Drag965, who set the record at Wannagofast NC Half Mile Shootout.
Unlike cars that are drag-specific, the 2500 horsepower Audi R8 is civilised enough to be driven on the streets too, or on the highway to a drag location, set the record and be driven back home.

Setting a half mile record of 392km/h is an eye opener for sure since most production supercars have a top speed of less than what the R8 achieved in half a mile. Also, for a car that can be driven cross-country as well, the R8 deserves a round of applause.
