Volvo Inflatable Child Safety Seat Concept Revealed
The safest way a child under the age of four years can travel in a car is in a rear facing seat specifically designed for children. Rear facing seats prevent children from suffering from neck injury during a frontal impact. However, child safety car seats tend to be bulky and heavy which discourages many parents from using them.

Volvo's concept child safety seats can be inflated in 40 seconds using a built-in pump.
When deflated and folded the seat measures 45 x 50 x 20cm and weighs less than 5 kg. This means the seat can easily be packed inside a backpack while on a weekend family trip.
Volvo's inflatable seat is made from drop-stitch fabric, the same material that's used to make inflatable boats.

However, Volvo has not revealed whether it intends to mass produce its extremely useful inflatable child safety seats. Do you think Volvo should enter this concept into production?
