Ducati says the intelligent system only deploys the rider and passenger airbags when a crash/collision is inevitable and that it only takes 45 milliseconds for them to be deployed.

BMW Motorrad had showcased similar passive motorcycle safety technology during last year's EICMA. However, Ducati will become the first two wheeler manufacturer to bring out a production version of the Dainese D-Air safety system.

More information about the Ducati Multistrada D-Air will be released on April 15, following which it will become available in Europe from May 2014.
