Volkswagen Polo, the smallest four door car offered by the automaker, has received an update for the year 2014. The facelifted Polo has strayed very little from the current design, yet the final result is a more mature and grown up look that's sure to gain new followers. To start with, the 2014 Polo wears a new face that includes a new bumper, new headlamps, now with optional LED lights and fog lamps.

Small design changes such as a chrome strip that connects the headlamps and a metal trim that runs between the fog lamps do the magic and make the Polo look brand new despite the changes being minor. Towards the rear, the taillights have been revised and lastly, the tyres are shod around differently designed alloy wheels.

More significant changes appear on the inside, but we cannot say how many of these very attractive new changes will make to Polos sold in India. Everything from the instrument cluster, center console to the steering wheel have been revised in the most attractive manner. The silver accents on the mostly black interior provides additional visual appeal. There is also a new colour display at the center.

The European spec 2014 VW Polo will be offered with a range of engine options (7 to be exact) and these are new units that comply with EU6 emission standards.
For India, unfortunately, VW is not expected to bring the new engines and will instead stick to the 3 cylinder petrol and diesel engines for the entry level variants, the flagship petrol trim with 1.2 liter TSI with seven speed DSG automatic transmission and the 1.6 TDi unit for the top level diesel variant.
