Upcoming Car Launches In 2014 To Look Forward To In India
Forty new cars were unveiled at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2014. Many of these were concept models which will only make it to production in the coming years. But there still plenty of production ready cars that are waiting to hit the road in the coming months.

Following is a list of some of the exciting new launches that will take place in India. These include hatchbacks, MPC, SUVs/crossovers and sedans.

Datsun GO+
Datsun's first budget MPV model, the Datsun GO+ will soon follow the GO hatchback on which it is based. The GO+ will share its engines and equipments with the GO as well, with the only change being the added overhang that can accommodate two more people. What makes the GO+ exciting is the price point at which it will launch - INR 5 lakhs. A first in this segment.

List of new launches in India this year.

Audi A3
Audi A3 will be the most affordable car from the brand when it launches. The sedan will be assembled locally and is expected to be priced at around INR 25 lakhs, giving more people an opportunity to own an Audi. An open top version will also be offered, but this will be more expensive as it will be imported through the CBU route.

Jeep
Jeep did not have a presence at the Auto Expo, but the much delayed entry of the brand into India is expected to happen this year for sure. Initially, Jeep will launch two new models - a Wrangler and the Cherokee.

Honda Mobilio
The stylish looking compact MPV from Honda will primarily target Maruti Ertiga and is most likely to succeed where Chevrolet Enjoy has failed. The Mobilio's strengths are its better styling and Honda's refined engine.

Fiat Avventure
The Avventure, as you can see, is the crossoover version of the 2014 Punto that's not yet available in India. As with any crossover model the Avventure gets off-road body panels and roof rails among other visual additions which make the Avventura attractive to look at. This is also arguably the best looking hatchback turned crossover model we have seen in India till date.

Toyota Etios Cross
Yet another crossover model, the Etios Cross gets plenty of external cladding in black plastic, large front and rear bumper, with the mandatory roof rail. Toyota hopes the crossover version will perform better than the regular Etios Liva hatchback, which has failed to take as expected.

Maruti Suzuki SX-4 S-Cross
The S-Cross from Maruti is more a compact SUV than a crossover that's larger than the Ford EcoSport. Very little is known about the S-Cross as of now, which is expected to be launched in the second half of this year.

Tata Bolt
Tata Bolt is the Vista successor that's heavily modified and looks nothing like the car it replaces. With new equipments & features in the cabin and a new engine under the bonnet, the Bolt could finally turn the tide in Tata's favour.

Tata Zest
The Zest is the replacement to the Manza and is the Bolt with an extended boot. The Zest provides everything which the Bolt has to offer, along with extra space. Top variants of the Zest will also have a more premium interior.

Hyundai Xcent
The ‘Xcent' name has been brought back with the Grand i10 based compact sedan. The good thing about the Xcent is it does not look too bad despite its stout extended boot. Honda Amaze and Maruti DZrire will face some tough competition when Hyundai launches its new compact sedan.
