The 2015 Hyundai Sonata is built on a platform that's an updated version of the one used for the outgoing Sonata. The new Sonata is said to have 41 percent more torsional rigidity and 35 percent more structural strength.

The new Sonata's design incorporates Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language that was first seen on the 2015 Genesis. The new design can be easily recognised by the hexagonal front grille.

The 2015 Sonata measures 4,855 mm long, 1,865 mm wide, 1,475 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,805 mm.

The new car is 35 mm longer and 30 mm wider than the outgoing model resulting in a more spacious interior.

Hyundai says, the 2015 Sonata has improved driving dynamics, featuring stiffer suspensions for a more sportier drive. Hyundai even tested the new Sonata at the Nürburgring. Hyundai also claims the NVH levels have been improved over the previous car.

Besides standard features such as ABS, EBD, TCS, ESP, 6 airbags, Bi-Xenon headlights and LED taillights, the 2015 Sonata also boroughs advanced features from the new Genesis, such as Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning System, Advanced Smart Cruise Control and the next gen Blue Link infotainment system.

Engines details are not yet out and they will also change from region to region. One engine that is most likely to remain standard everywhere is the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, mated to a 6 speed automatic and manual transmission driving the front wheels.
