Ford India August, 2014 Sales Report

American-based four-wheeler manufacturer Ford has been in India for a while now. They have seen ups and downs on regular occasions with their brand. They have recently announced their sales figures of August, 2014.

Ford India has reported selling and exporting 14,092 vehicles in August, 2014. Their sales figures grew by 27 percent over last year in the same month. In August, 2013, the automobile manufacturer managed sales of 11,065 vehicles.

Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, expressed, "We anticipate a continued revival in customer sentiments as we lead up to the festive season and are prepared to meet the higher demand for our cars, including the popular Ford EcoSport."

He further added, "Alongside planning for a third-shift at our Chennai plant, we have significantly reduced the waiting period for most variants of the Ford EcoSport to ensure that more and more customers can drive into the festival season with their favorite urban SUV."

Ford has managed to sell only 6,801 vehicles in India during August, 2014, while in August, 2013 the manufacturer sold 8,008 vehicles. However, they have reported growth owing to their exports, which was 3,057 units in August, 2013. They exported 7,291 vehicles in August, 2014.

Recently the automobile giant reported a milestone they achieved. Ford had announced selling and exporting 1,00,000 EcoSport vehicles in India. The feat was achieved in August, 2014 and is one of their popular vehicles across the globe, which is manufactured in India.

Ford claims to have sold over 60,000 EcoSport vehicles in India alone. The compact SUV or as Ford likes to call it the 'Urban SUV', offers a superior driving experience. The vehicle also offers great value for money matched with a contemporary design. It is exported to markets like Australia, South Africa, Taiwan and several European countries.
