Ford Focus: World’s Best Selling Nameplate In 2013
Ford Focus has been recognized as the best selling car in the world in 2013 by automotive data and marketing solutions firm Polk. As per Polk's 2013 vehicle registration data, Ford sold 10,97,618 Focus compact cars last year.
Ford Focus was also named the best selling nameplate of 2012 during which period it had sold 10,14,965 units.
Of all the Focus models sold, Europe accounted for 29 percent, which is about 3,18,309 units. China, on the other hand, accounted for one out of every three cars sold around the globe.

Ford Focus models are manufactured in various facilities across the globe in United States, Germany, Vietnam, Russia, China, Taiwan, Argentina and Thailand. The American automaker has the capacity to produce over 1.5 million Focus cars annually at a staggering rate of two cars every one second.
The Ford Focus nameplate was born in 1998 and since then the company has sold more than 12 million units. The current generation car is powered by 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, coupled to a six-speed transmission.
The next generation Ford Focus will make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show 2014.

"The sophisticated redesign has given Focus a new, fresh and modern style both inside and out, but the soul of Focus is the fun-to-drive feeling you get when you're behind the wheel, and we've not compromised on that - in fact, we've improved it."
