Fiat Abarth Vehicles Could Be Assembled In India From 2015
Fiat's red and yellow scorpion badged performance brand Abarth is set to make its arrival in India this year with the launch of the first model, Abarth 500.
Fiat displayed the Abarth 500 in India last month at the Auto Expo 2014 and the hot hatch will enter India through the completely built unit (CBU) route. Naturally, this will make the car more than twice as expensive as it would have actually cost.

While not ideal, at present Fiat has no other choice, but that's something that could change by next year. BusinessLine reports that Fiat is contemplating assembling Abarth branded cars locally to make the performance vehicles a lot more affordable.

Fiat has not made a final decision yet though and is still thinking about which local model it should give the Abarth treatment first.
Since the Fiat 500 is not sold in India yet the more likely choice for a locally made Abarth is the Punto.
Abarth branded cars will be showcased at Fiat showrooms in special corners, only in selected Indian cities.
