Ferrari F12 TRS, A One-Off Open Top F12 Berlinetta Costs $4.2 Million

While Ferrari's flagship, once in a decade supercars such as the Enzo and LaFerrari are considered expensive and rare, for a few people these are still too generic. Catering to these customers is Ferrari's Special Projects division.

Special Projects builds special one-off models as per customer specifications, with the only limit being the customers ability to spend. Over the years, we have come across several one-off Ferrari models, including the beautiful looking SP12, commissioned by Eric Clapton.

The latest one-off Ferrari, according to several reports, is called the F12 TRS and as the name suggests, it is based on the F12 Berlinetta.

According to Ferrarichat, the F12 TRS is equipped with an F1 style KERS (kinetic energy recovery system), similar to the one found in the LaFerrari. It's not known if any other modifications have been made to the 730 horsepower 6.3-litre V12 engine.

Going by the couple of images leaked into the internet, the F12 TRS seems to feature a targa open-top design and that's not the only change made to the Berlinetta design. Both the front and rear bumpers as well as the hood of the car have been modified.

Unlike a few one-off customer commissioned Ferraris such as the SPFFX, the F12 TRS is quite good looking. Arguably, better looking than the F12 Berlinetta's original design.

Captured in Ferrari's garage at the Fiorano test track in Italy, the F12 TRS is said have cost its buyer $4.2 million, roughly the cost of three LaFerraris.

However, our favourite still remains Eric Clapton's 458 Italia based SP12, for which the British musician/singer reportedly paid $4.7 million.
