Datsun Go Launch Date Officially Confirmed
Datsun has officially confirmed the launch date of Go hatchback as March 19. Datsun first took the veils off of the Go in July 2013 and has since then displayed it across the country and at the Auto Expo giving people enough time to familiarize themselves with the brand name.
Datsun Go is built on Nissan's V-platform which it shares with the Micra. The Go is a large car for an entry level hatchback measuring 3,785 mm in length, 1,635 mm in width, 1,485 mm in height and with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.

This translates into a best in class cabin space, which is further bolstered by positioning of the gear lever and handbrakes on the dashboard. There's also a decent 265 liters of boot space.
The engine powering Datsun Go is the 1.2 liter 3-cylinder petrol mill borrowed from the Micra which develops 67 bhp and 106 Nm of torque for the Go.
Datsun Go is expected to have a starting price of just INR 3 lakhs and the top end variant will cost under INR 4 lakhs. The extremely competetive pricing comes with a few sacrifices; such as, absence of ABS, airbags and fog lamps even in the top end variant.
Production of Datsun Go was started early in February at Renault-Nissan Alliance's Oragadam plant near Chennai to reduce waiting periods. Datsun Go will be available in three trim levels and can be pre booked by paying an amount of Rs 11,000.
