Datsun Go Price & Variants Leaked Ahead Of Launch
Datsun Go, which is set to hit dealerships in a couple of weeks time will be offered with a starting price of INR 3 lakhs. That's 3 lakhs for a car that falls under the same category of hatchbacks which generally come for some half a lakh more for a comparable trim level. That's huge. And definitely not good for competitors like Maruti and Hyundai, but excellent for Datsun/Nissan and buyers.

According to Zigwheels sources Datsun Go will be offered in three variants, each of them priced at INR 3 lakhs, INR 3.5 lakhs and INR 3.8 lakhs for the base, mid and top end variants respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Top end variant under INR 4 lakhs as initially promised by Datsun.

The pricing is definitely aggressive and very competitive, but what'll make this even more effective is the fact that Datsun Go is an impressive car. Impressive in how much interior space it offers and impressive in how capable the engine performance is (relative to this segment).
Class leading space and a good engine for the lowest price in the segment. Now that's a winning combination. What remains to be seen is how well Indian buyers will take to a brand new name. Datsun Go will be sold through Nissan dealerships whose strength in numbers still falters badly in comparison to Maruti or even Hyundai's nation wide presence.
Only time will tell whether Nissan and Datsun will pull this one off. Meanwhile, if you are one of those interested in buying the Datsun Go, the booking amount is Rs 11,000.
