Audi Posts Impressive August Sales Chart

The luxury carmaker registered a total sale of 726 units in August 2012, a growth rate of 42 percent over the same period last year (August 2011: 510 units).
"The year 2012 has been remarkable for Audi in India. Our steady growth amidst the challenging market conditions in the luxury car segment is not only commendable but also showcases the faith our customers have entrusted in us. With a total of 5406 units sold this year so far, we are confident of steering towards, and potentially surpassing, our target of 8000 units this year." said Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.
"Our customers are able to identify with our brand equity, which drives on sportiness, progressiveness and sophistication. This is fuelling our growth in India and we continue to be the fastest growing brand in the luxury car segment. We are expanding our reach and we plan to add 5 more dealerships by the end of this year to our existing network of 20." added Mr. Perschke.
Audi India continues to be the market leader in the luxury SUV segment in India with Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. The launch of Audi Q3 has further consolidated its dominance in the luxury SUV segment in India. The brand with the four rings continues to be the segment leader also in the sports car segment with Audi R8, Audi RS5 and the new Audi TT Coupè.
Audi is focused to strengthen its national footprint across India. The company recently opened new showrooms in Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Delhi West, Nagpur and Bhopal. Last year, the luxury carmaker opened new showrooms in Delhi South, Chennai, Ludhiana, Surat and Indore. Further developments include Lucknow and Goa among others.
