Skoda India Launches Fabia Scout At Rs 6.79 Lakhs
Skoda India, the Czech manufacturer's Indian subsidiary has silently launched the Fabia Scout hatchback at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakhs for the petrol variant and a higher Rs 8.10 lakhs for the diesel. The car maker has been reportedly testing the Fabia Scout hatchback in India for quite a while.
The Fabia Scout hatchback which was showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo looks more rugged than the regular Fabia. Other than the muscular looks, the Fabia Scout hatchback remains similar to the regular Fabia with no increase in ground clearance or no off-road capability.
The 1.2L MPI 3-cylinder petrol engine under the bonnet of the Fabia Scout hatchback churns out a decent power of 75 bhp and 110 Nm of pure torque. The diesel engine of the Scout model is a 1.2L TDI CR diesel turbo-charged 3-cylinder motor that produces 75 bhp and 180 Nm of max power and peak torque.
Both engines of the Fabia Scout hatchback are mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Fabia Scout hatchback gets a host of extra features that include an integrated stereo, power windows, tinted glasses, sporty stainless steel pedal and remote locking together with air bags for driver and passenger in the front.
