Maruti Suzuki Ertiga: Get The Family Pack

The Ertiga will not be on sale in Suzuki's home country Japan. Maruti Suzuki intends to sell the car in Asian markets following its launch in India. The car will be available as both 5-seater and 7-seater models.
In looks, the Ertiga has similarities to Maruti's Ritz hatchback. This doesn't come as a big surprise as the MPV is based on a modified platform of the Ritz.
Interestingly, the Ertiga will have a diesel engine under its bonnet which the carmaker claim is very frugal with a mileage of 20.77 kmpl. The MPV which is expected to be priced between Rs 7-9 lakhs will compete with the likes of Toyota Innova, the segment leader and the Mahindra Xylo.
While the price of Innova starts at 9 lakhs, Ertiga is expected to sell from 7 lakhs. The Ertiga will also be smaller in size than the Innova and Xylo making the car easier to drive in city roads. The compact size doesn't mean less interior space, the interior of the car is roomy with the capacity to seat 7 people.
The MPV will also come with a 1.4 Liter K-series 94 Bhp, 130 Nm petrol engine. The petrol engine too claims a decent mileage of 16.02 kmpl, both the engines are mated to a five-speed transmission.
The Indian auto major have pinned high hopes on the MPV expecting it to sell in high numbers. We will have to wait for some time to see if the Ertiga could repeat the magic that the Swift did for Maruti. Follow us for more updates on the Ertiga launch.
