Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Big Launch Tomorrow At Mumbai
The Ertiga is expected to be launched in other cities in the following days. The MPV has been a much talked about car name in the media and the automotive circles since it was unveiled at the 2012 Delhi International Auto Expo in January. Maruti Suzuki has also launched a teaser website exclusively for the Ertiga two days before the launch of the MPV.
The Ertiga will be Maruti's first MPV though the carmaker had been selling cars like Omni, Versa and Eco that are more of panel vans. The MPV market has been hotting up in the recent times with car buyers upgrading to spacious, practical MPVs that drive like a car and have the qualities of an SUV.
Maruti Suzuki is expecting to create a new category with the introduction of the Ertiga in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki chief general manager (sales & marketing) Shashank Srivastava says that the Ertiga has been designed for buyers looking at upgrading from hatchbacks to a larger vehicle at an affordable price.
