The New Suzuki Versus Toyota Etios Liva

If we compare the bookings of new models that are in the same class as the Swift we can notice the sharp difference between the Swift and its competitors' popularity. The recently launched Toyota Etios Live hatchback has managed to get 4,000 bookings. Although this number seems to be quite incredible for a Toyota, the new Swift's bookings are miles ahead.

One of the main reasons for the new Swift's bookings being higher than the Toyota Etios Liva is the fact that the Maruti Suzuki model is available with both petrol and diesel engines while the Toyota hatchback comes only with a petrol engine. Another reason for the high bookings of the new Swift could be current Swift owners could be upgrading to the new model having been satisfied with the current Swift. This is quite natural considering the new Swift offers better fuel economy and power.

Maruti Suzuki has already started production of the new Swift at its plant in Manesar. We hope that it builds sufficient models before the launch so that there are no long waiting periods for the new model.
