Bugatti Will End Veyron Production Shortly

Bugatti Veyron
Bugatti the French sports car brand is famous for building the world's fastest cars. The company has sold the last of the Bugatti Veyrons it has built. The Veyron was a limited edition model from the beginning and only 100 more are left to be sold. Wolfgang Durheimer who took over as Bugatti's new chief executive has promised that the carmaker will continue to produce the world's fastest cars.

Mr Durheimer is also the chief executive of British luxury car brand Bentley, also owned by Bugatti's parent company Volkswagen. He has stressed that Bugatti's modern philosophy was to be the builder of the fastest cars.

Bugatti is keen to maintain its position as the builder of the world's fastest car. When SSC Aero overtook the Veyron, the French carmaker immediately unleashed the Veyron Supersport to take back its crown. When asked why Bugatti was hell bent on building such fast cars, Mr Durheimer attributed it to the need to brag about something. In Bugatti's case its the world's fastest car.

Bugatti will be building about 100 Veyron GrandSport convertibles. It has already sold all Veyron coupes built so far. It is yet unclear if a new model will be developed or the Veyron will get another lease of life.
