Bugatti Galibier to Replace Veyron As Fastest Car?

Bugatti Galibier
Bugatti has only one model in its stable - The Veyron. The carmaker has only sol several variants of the same car since its launch. Bugatti had previously unveiled a four door concept car called the Galibier. The chief executive has said the Galibier was being assessed by Volkswagen as a possible successor to the Veyron. He claims the Galibier will be the world's fastest saloon car if it is launched in to the market. The Galibier is powered by a 16-litre turbo charged engine very much similar to the Veyron.

Mr Durheimer must convince the Volkswagen top brass that the Galibier will match the performance of the Veyron. He elaborated: “ I am in the process of convincing them that this will be the best car in its segment in the world. It will be claiming for outstanding design, the biggest series production engine with 16 cylinders and it will be the fastest limousine in the world."

Bugatti is aiming to build 500 to 1,500 Galibier saloons. The carmaker expects its existing customers will buy its new product. The French carmaker has already invited 300 of its customers to a special preview of the Galibier at this year's Pebble Beach Concours.

Bugatti cannot rely entirely on the Galibier Saloon if it has to maintain its position as the builder of the fastest car in the world. It needs to develop a new sports car that will break the speed records set by the Veyron.
