Swift Strikes Back At Indica With Taxi Salvo

Swift Advertizement
Maruti Suzuki has launched an aggressive ad campaign for the Swift. A press advertisement published recently clearly attacks the Tata Indica. The advertisement urges people to opt for the Swift instead of a Taxi, an apparent reference to the Tata Indica, India's most preferred car by taxi drivers.

Auto.oneindia.in had previously published an article on how Tata Motors was offering an open challenge to the new Swift by comparing the features and specifications of the Indica with the new Swift. Now it is Maruti's turn to fight back.

If you click here you will see the complete ad.

You will notice that the ad does not clearly say it is referring to the Indica. But one can easily assume the line “shift to Swift diesel, not to a taxi' is an apparent reference to the Indica.

The advertisement campaigns run bby these two indian carmakers show the simmering competition between the two. Both Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motor offer cars at lower prices than other carmaker. While there has been no direct competition between any two particular models between these two carmakers, the Swift-Indica ad war appears to have begun one.
