Our Rich Ministers' Small Cars

Tata Nano Kamal Nath
Kamal nath, the Urban development minister has emerged as the richest minister in the cabinet. He has declared a net worth of Rs.263 crores and yet surprise surprise he owns a Tata Nano and an Ambassador! In a rather surprising disclosure, union agriculture minister Sharad Power does not own a single car despite having assets worth more than Rs.12.5 crores.

Ministers with slightly upmarket cars are as follows. Home minister is an owner of three cars – a Ford Fiesta, a Skoda and a Volkswagen. The minister has not revealed which cars he owns exactly. However the value of his Skoda has been pegged at Rs.22 lakhs which will mean Chidambaram possibly owns a Skoda Laura. Reportedly he also owns a bicycle, wonder when we will see him riding it.

Telecom minister Kapil Sibal is not only a famous lawyer but also appears to be a auto enthusiast. He owns a Toyota Corolla for his trips around Delhi, a Maruti Suzuki Jeep to go off-roading and a Hyundai Sonata premium sedan. The big surprise is that he also owns a Royal Enfield Bullet.

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna owns a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Hyundai Sonata. Union law minister Salman Khusrsheed owns a Mahindra Jeep and a 2005 Toyota Innova.
