Nissan Surprises Everyone With Sunny Diesel Launch

Nissan Suuny Launch
Yesterday was a surprising day for us as Japanese carmaker Nissan announced the launch of the diesel version of the Sunny Sedan one month in advance. We had ourselves reported that the Sunny diesel will only make it to the market by January 2012. There were also reports that the diesel Sunny will be unveiled at the forthcoming Delhi auto Expo.

Demand for diesel cars has increased tremendously and the Sunny"s sales could have been influenced by the non availability of a diesel engine. Nissan India has solved this problem now and will look forward to boost its sales. The Sunny"s diesel version is available in two variants - XL and XV. Interestingly Nissan has not added a diesel engine to the Sunny"s entry level variant. The XL is now available at Rs.7.98 lakhs and the XV is yours for 8.78 lakhs. The showroom prices are standard across all Nissan showrooms in India.

Let as have a closer look at the new Nissan Sunny.

Exterior:
The new Sunny is by no means different from its petrol variant. Nissan has added only the diesel name on the rear badge and the rest of the car remains the same. Nissan need not do anything with the design as the Sunny has been liked for its premium car looks. This is quite an achievement considering the Sunny is based on the Micra hatchback. The large front grille gives a premium look to the Sunny. To add to this the broad haunches on the sides and the stylish curves make the sunny a visually pleasing car.
