Sunny Spurs Huge Hike In Nissan Sales

Nissan's October sales also reflect the increasing acceptance of the brand in India. The Micra was its only locally manufacturer car in India until the arrival of the Sunny. While the Micra is available with petrol and diesel, Nissan has said it would launch a diesel powered Sunny early next year.
Nissan has said it has received more than 2,000 orders for the Sunny within six weeks of its launch. The Micra is still Nissan's best selling car in India accounting for 1,619 sales. The Micra in its personal level posted a 52 per cent increase in sales.
Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd commented: “October"s sales are very encouraging and demonstrate the sustained progress Nissan is making within the Indian market. This is being achieved by offering our customers a growing range of affordable, quality-driven and engaging products like SUNNY and Micra which are manufactured locally."
Mr Dinesh Jain Chief Executive Officer, Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan"s sales and marketing partner in India, added: “Our customers" exceptional reaction to SUNNY shows that it is the right car, at the right price. The sedan segment is becoming increasingly important in India, and in SUNNY we have a model that can compete at the highest level in terms of refinement, practicality and value."
Sunny is available through Nissan"s 45 dealerships nationwide, priced at Rs 578,000 for its XE base variant, Rs 688,000 for its XL mid variant and Rs 768,000 for top XV variant (ex-showroom Delhi).
