Tata September Sales Climb Up 22 Per cent

Tata Motors' total sales in September 2011 were 78,786 vehicles, marking a 22% increase over September 2010. The company's domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for September 2011 were 72,566 nos., higher by 22% over 59,611 nos. sold in September last year.
Tata Motors passenger vehicle sales which in the previous months shown a sizable decline have reported a growth of ten per cent after 26,319 sales. The major contributor for this increase in sales was the Indica range of cars which accounted for a 64 per cent increase in sales.. Another segment that posted positive sales was that of the larger passenger cars including the Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture that posted a growth of 60 per cent. But sales of the Tata Nano fell 47 per cent after 2,936 sales and the Indigo range managed to post a sales decline of 11 per cent of 7,793 units.
Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales that have been delivering consistent sales increases continued their trend with a 29 per cent increase in September sales. LCV sales were 28,092 nos., a growth of 47% over September last year. M&HCV sales stood at 18,155 nos., a growth of 9% over September last year.
Tata Motors has said in its press release has also quoted its export figures. Exports driven by commercial vehicles rose 23 per cent.
