Maruti To Debut Vitara (Compact SUV) At The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

Suzuki has developed the new Vitara compact SUV based on the iV-4 concept. Maruti Suzuki is expected to debut this model at the 2016 Auto Expo and will be launched across the country in April 2016. The new compact SUV is most likely to be sold through its NEXA premium showrooms in India and will priced Rs. sub-10 lakh.

The Vitara compact SUV in India could be offered with two diesel and a single petrol engine. Maruti Suzuki could provide an option of a 1.6-litre and 1.3-litre diesel engines. Petrolheads will have to be content with a 1.4-litre gasoline engine.

The compact SUV will compete with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta, and Honda BR-V, which will debut at the 2016 Auto Expo debut. The segment is very price conscious, and so far Maruti Suzuki has rarely gone wrong with the pricing of their products.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki sells only two products through the NEXA dealerships: the S-Cross premium crossover and Baleno premium hatchback. At this moment, Maruti Suzuki is focussing on expanding its NEXA dealerships across the country.

Recently, Maruti launched the Baleno premium hatchback. The Baleno is available with petrol and diesel engines, and they have also equipped the petrol engine with an optional CVT gearbox for ease of driving.
