Maruti Unveils Ertiga MPV, Launch In March
Maruti Suzuki today unveiled the Ertiga MPV at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The much awaited model was first seen at the previous Auto Expo in the form of the RIII concept and within the past two years has become a production model with international potential. The Ertiga will be launched in the Indian market in March this year.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be the Indian carmaker's only MPV in the current line-up. This car is expected to perform better the the carmaker's previous MPV Versa. The Ertiga will be entering a segment that has been so far dominated by the Toyota Innova. The other major players here are the Mahindra Xylo and the Tata Aria.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga as we had previously reported will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The MPV will get a 1.3-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine. The Ertiga is expected to be priced between Rs. 6 lakhs and Rs.7 lakhs. Maruti Suzuki did not reveal much technical details about the new MPV.
