Nissan 3E Personal Head-Up Display Heads To Tokyo Auto Show
Nissan seems to love gadgets more than any other automaker. What else could explain the scratch resistant, self healing iPhone case it came out with a couple of years back and more recently, the Nismo smartwatch.
For the upcoming Tokyo Auto Show the engineers and designers at Nissan have developed what can be described as a personal head-up display, called 3E. A gizmo that is to be worn on the head and it displays information to the left eye.

This wearable tech is similar to Google Glass, only it would seem the wearer would be visually impaired in the left eye when wearing it. Considering its already illegal to drive a car wearing Google Glass we don't see how Nissan believes the 3E could be used.
Nissan 3E, however, without doubt is a lot more futuristic and cooler looking than those dorky Google Glasses. Clearly, the 3E will be restricted to use with Nissan sports vehicles (if it's allowed to be used while driving), displaying information such as telemetry data. Much like the Nismo watch. We'll have to wait until Tokyo Auto Show to see if Nissan actually plans to mass produce these.
