Maruti Suzuki Alto Is The Best Selling Car In India Despite Fall In Sales
Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the domestic passenger vehicle market in India.
Indian leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the domestic passenger vehicles market in October, according to the data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Seven of its model featured in the top ten selling cars list for the month of October. The Alto retained its number one spot in the list. With 18,854 units sold as compared to 22,861 units last year.
Maruti Suzuki's compact sedan Swift Dzire occupied the second spot with 15,201 cars sold as compared to the 21,084 units last year October.
Wagon R adorned the third position with 15,075 units sold. Last year the car was in the fourth position. Firms premium hatchback Swift was in fourth place with 14,611 units sold in October.
Whereas Hyundai Grand i10 was the fifth best selling cars with 14,530 units sold. Hyundai's premium hatchback Elite i20 was in sixth with 11,532 units.
Maruti Suzuki's premium hatchback, the Baleno appeared in the seventh position with a sales figure of 10,718 units. The Vitara Brezza featured in the eighth spot with a sales volume of 10,056 units.
Renault's successful entry-level hatchback Kwid was in ninth position with a healthy sales figure of 9,801 units. The last position went to Maruti Suzuki Celerio with 9,581 units. Despite the fall in sales volume Maruti Suzuki managed to dominate the market share in India.
Although Honda City, Amaze, Mahindra Bolero and Hyundai Creta were missing from the list. These vehicles were in the top ten selling list in October last year.
