Vespa S Launch In India; Price Rs 75,424

Vespa S, the Italian scooter manufacturer's second model in India was launched today in an event held in Mumbai. Vespa S, where the ‘S' stands for Sports, was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 last month.

Vespa S is a lot like the Vespa LX/VX, with only a few minor changes on the outside helping differentiate the two models. The Vespa S & LX even share the same engine.

First let's cover what the similarities between the two models are. The S gets the same 125cc 10.06 bhp, 10.59 Nm torque engine that powers the LX & VX models.

The same goes for the CVT transmission and the single sided hydraulic front shocks. However, the Vespa S gets black powder coated wheels. Also like the VX 125, the front wheel gets a 200mm disc brake.

What immediately sets the Vespa S from Vespa LX/VX 125 are the rectangular headlamp and rear view mirror.

Another change is the new seat, that not only looks more premium, but is also said to offer more comfort.

Continuing its classic styling, the Vespa S features an old school instrument cluster that comes with an analogue speedometer, fuel-gauge and large warning lights. The only thing digital is a watch.
